HMI Simulators
This is a standalone application that will run on your PC and interact with your PLC (Automation Direct, Allen Bradley, Siemens and Mitsubishi), you will be given a link and step by step procedure on how to download the application (download via the internet only, no shipping), register your product and then be given an application key.
You will need a one of the supported PLCs (our trainers work great) at minimum you will need 4 inputs and/or have the ability to wire inputs to your PLC (momentary and latching), the intent of our HMI is to familiarize you with HMI applications and how they will interact with your PLC and how you control the applications using the HMI. This is a fixed application and cannot be edited, but the PLC program can be edited if you choose, both will be provided. We have documented the programs very well, so you will also get the benefit of how the HMI program interacts with the PLC program on every level, this is not a lesson on how to program the PLC or HMI, but does cover a lot of needed information for the person looking how to advanced their skills in PLC programming and HMI interaction. All HMI's are similar in handling of the tag's and how they communicate (interact) to the PLC, no matter if you are using (or plan to use) Wonderware, RSView or Peak HMI this will give you general knowledge of HMI's and more advanced PLC programming, see our store for PLC programming lessons. Once you download the application and get it running, just explore the two programs and experiment... you can not hurt it but you can learn a lot!
There are two included applications
The Pump and Tank.....
In this application you will monitor the tank level, start and stop the pump, along with the setting of the discharge pressure, adjust the flow on the outlet and inlet valves, view the alarms and interact with the pump trends and more…. The Boiler….
In this
application you
will monitor the
drum level, gas
valve, gas gun,
start/stop the
boiler and
more….
Follow along
with the
program, if you
are using
MicroLogix 1100,
1200 with a side
HMI port, 1400
or 1500 with a
LRP you can be
online with the
Ethernet or port
two (RSLinx and
RSLogix) at the
same time as the
HMI runs on your
PC, if you are
using a PLC with
a single com
port you will
need to view the
program off line
as both (RSLogix
and the HMI)
cannot
communicate on
the same port at
the same time.
You will need a
standard
1761-CBL-PM02
cable for
communication to
a MicroLogix,
SC09 for the
Mitsubishi FX,
PPI cable for
Siemens and the
D2-DSCBL for the
Automation
Direct line
The CPU's with
ports will make
the application
better to
understand and
much nicer to
work on when it
comes to an HMI
If you are
looking to move
beyond the basic
PLC programming
then this is a
great tool for
you....
